Admitted to California Bar in 1985. Ms. Kaye was an editor of the Law Review at the University of San Diego, and authored an article on the “Law of the Sea.” After graduating from USD Law School, Ms. Kaye clerked for the Honorable Irma E. Gonzalez, where she assisted the Court in writing opinions and researching various federal civil issues. After working with an insurance defense firm for a year, Ms. Kaye joined the prominent plaintiff construction defect firm of Duke, Gerstel & Shearer, where she was responsible for the recovery of multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts for homeowners throughout California. Ms. Kaye has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, mediation, arbitration, and jury trial preparation. She also has experience in contract negotiation and disputes, including National Football League disputes and claims.
General Civil Litigation, including jury trials, arbitration and mediation. Specialized in complex multi-party and class actions which often resulted in favorable settlements or verdicts. Ms. Kaye has expertise in all aspects of litigation including discovery, motion practice and appellate work. She has been involved in a number of class action lawsuits for plaintiffs and defendants. She represented and obtained settlements for a number of plaintiffs in the breast implant class action lawsuits in the 1990's.
